Membership

New Berlin Fire and Rescue is always looking for committed volunteers to join us. A firefighter is responsible for responding to emergency situations involving fires, hazardous materials, medical emergencies, and other disasters. Our primary duties of include extinguishment, conducting search and rescue operations, providing emergency medical care, and educating the public about fire safety and prevention.

Firefighters must be quick-thinking and able to work well under stress, as they are often required to make split-second decisions that can have a significant impact on the safety of those around them. While the work of a firefighter can be challenging, it is also rewarding, as it provides an opportunity to serve the community and make a positive impact on people’s lives.

New Berlin Fire and Rescue seeks volunteers regardless of age, physical abilities, or previous firefighting experience. In addition to official calls for service, members are expected to attend meetings, assist with equipment maintenance, and participate in training and fundraising events.

To become a member of the NBFR, you must first be sponsored by at least two active members and then complete a written application for membership. The applications will be read at two consecutive regular business meetings where you will be introduced to the full department. A vote of the department will be taken after the second reading to accept you as a new member.

The community is welcome to support the department as a member, reserve member, associate member or patron; as well as attending fundraisers and other department hosted events.
